American Grammy-winning artist Doja Cat is set to headline the third edition of the pan-African music tour Move Afrika, performing in Kigali and Pretoria this March. The tour, led by Global Citizen in partnership with pgLang, builds on previous editions headlined by Kendrick Lamar (2023) and John Legend (2025).

Doja Cat will kick off the tour at BK Arena in Kigali on March 17, before performing at SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa. The Kigali concert is organized in partnership with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

“From my South African roots straight to the world stage, we’re bringing energy, purpose, and real change to Move Afrika,” said Doja Cat. “This isn’t just a tour, it’s a movement that creates jobs and opportunities that last. Africa isn’t coming, it’s already here.”

Born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, the 30-year-old rapper and singer is known for her dynamic performances and genre-blending sound. She previously co-headlined the 2024 Global Citizen Festival, using her platform to highlight humanitarian crises worldwide.

Since its launch in 2023, Move Afrika has expanded across African cities and created over 2,500 jobs, with a strong focus on local crew, production, and training opportunities. The tour also advocates for stronger healthcare systems and supports initiatives like the Music Economy Development Initiative (MEDI), designed to attract greater investment into Africa’s creative sector.

Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, described Doja Cat’s participation as a major milestone for the tour. RDB CEO Jean-Guy Afrika added that the event aligns with Rwanda’s ambition to become a leading destination for live entertainment in Africa.
